Dr. John Anderson was an area dentist, founder of the Vienna Memorial Day Association, World War I veteran, and also served on the Board of Education in the Vienna Township Rural School District. He was also past treasurer of the Vienna Kiwanis, a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church and a former member of the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department.

John married Vinnietta Warner on July 2, 1926. He had a son, John R. and a daughter, Mrs. William (Elenore) Beachler.
