Ray graduated from Vienna High School in 1940.
The name of Ray Beachler is etched on one of the Tablets of the Missing in the American Cemetery in Margraten, Netherlands. Beachler enlisted on March 23, 1943, and served as a sergeant in the 745th Tank Battalion.
His remains have not been found. He was declared dead on October 20, 1945.
Ray Beachler was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
His memorial was "adopted" by Angelique Aupperlée of the Netherlands in 2008 as part of the American War Graves Adoption Program.
