Military Service: Samuel L. Gleason served as a corporal in Captain Asa Hutchins' Company, 3rd (Hayes') Regiment, Ohio Militia, from August 24 to November 11, 1812. Capt. Hutchins' Company contained many men from Vienna Township.[1]

Little is yet known about Samuel L. Gleason. His name appears on a number of early tax lists for Vienna and Brookfield townships. In the Federal Censuses of 1820 and 1830 he is listed as a Vienna resident.
