Payne's Corners
Payne's (or Paynes) Corners is the historic place name for the intersection of Warren-Sharon and Warner roads, on the boundary line between Vienna and Brookfield townships, Ohio.
The landmark is named after the Payne family. Traveling from Amenia, Dutchess County, New York, Solomon Payne, his wife Mary ("Polly") Gates, and her mother Dorothy Ransom arrived in Vienna in the early nineteenth century. They settled on a forty-acre farm on the southeast corner of the intersection.
