Memories of Currie Elementary School

Currie School opened during the 1967-1968 school year. The student population at that time consisted of elementary school students living in Fowler Township.

The school was named as such to honor former music teacher, Daisy Orr Currie (FG).

After nearly 60 years in use, Currie School was closed after the 2023-2024 school year.

At the start of the 2024-2025 school year, kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students joined the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students at Baker Elementary School. At that time, Baker Elementary School was renamed Mathews Elementary School.
