Smith's Market

Smith's Market was a general store operated by Paul and Daisy (Lay) Smith. The store was located at 4434 Warren-Sharon Road. The business operated from at least 1948 to at least 1970.

Items sold at the store included groceries, hand-cut meats, frozen foods and produce. Paul Smith was the butcher at the store.

Linda Yannon, granddaughter of Paul and Daisy Smith, recalls working at the store when she was 15 years old, " I made 75 cents an hour!" She also recalls, "I will never forget when Mary Beth Sponsler and I saved our money all summer to buy matching dresses for school. She got the red dress, I got the brown dress."

After the market closed, a Vienna branch of Cortland Banks occupied the building.
