Mathews Hall of Fame

The mission of the Mathews Hall of Fame is to recognize members of the Mathews Local Schools Community for their outstanding achievements in athletics, lifetime accomplishments, or contributions to Mathews Local Schools. The Mathews Hall of Fame was an idea brought about by committee members of the HERD Foundation.

Nominees may be former students, teachers or administrators who have reached significant achievements in their chosen field, or former students, teachers, administrators or community members who have made outstanding contributions to the Mathews Schools Community. All former student nominees must be alumni graduates of Mathews High School for five years or more. All Mathews staff, administrators, coaches or community member nominees have no time constraints.

Inductees are introduced at a ceremony  receiving a plaque commemorating their induction, and be honored with a perpetual wall plaque which will be placed in the Mathews Hall of Fame.

The  Hall of Fame Committee is a sub-committee of the Herd Foundation. The Selection Committee, a sub-committee of the Hall of Fame committee, will be comprised of five to seven members. Care will be taken so that members represent different age groups and time periods in Mathews Local Schools history.

Terry Woodyard, former Mathews Board of Education Member, serves as Committee Chair for the Hall of Fame.

The first Hall of Fame Banquet was held at Tiffany's Banquet Center in Brookfield, Ohio on August 31, 2024 with 18 inductees honored.
